Zack Snyder waited until the last minute at Comic-Con to announce — and confirm rumors — that the next Superman movie would feature Batman.
The announcement was made after Warner Bros showed off a bit of Edge of Tomorrow.
According to Hall H attendee, Jennifer Duong — who I spoke to via Facebook — Snyder said the movie is currently in its scripting phase.
Earlier, media outlets, like the LA Times, reported an announcement would be made. Several sources claimed Snyder would direct and David Goyer would write. The movie would feature the newest actor to don the Batsuit as Christian Bale would not return for the role.
Rumors also abounded that The Flash would be set to have his own film released in 2016 after the new Superman movie with a Justice League movie hitting theaters sometime in 2017.
Update: Someone from Comic-Con released this video. Zack Snyder confirms the Man of Steel sequel before passing the mic to Harry Lennix who played General Swanwick. The line he reads comes from The Dark Knight Returns — Frank Miller’s mini-series where Batman and Superman fought with a clear winner.
